Crash Data & Alert Pipeline.
Public road-safety data acquisition, SQL-backed analysis, and a location-alert API prototype in one engineering repository.

ENGINEERING DEEP DIVE
Inside the system.
Public crash records arrive through different formats and acquisition paths. This repository brings data collection, analysis, and a location-alert prototype together around road-safety records.
Acquisition scripts fetch NHTSA Alabama records and UK STATS19 data, with threaded download and retry logic. CSV and MySQL analysis produce supporting figures. A FastAPI prototype applies heuristic alert rules using spatial grids and coordinate bounding boxes.
Explore the ingestion scripts, analysis figures, and alert API. The prototype uses local data files and explicit heuristic rules for location-based alert scoring.
